Simplified peroperative placement of temporary right atrial pacing leads

WS Walker
Department of Cardiac Surgery, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Scotland, UK.

A simple technique for securing right atrial pacing leads is described. The method relies on pressure fixation by haemostatic clips. Clinical experience over a 2 year period has demonstrated that this system provides safe, reliable and rapid lead attachment. No problems with lead removal have been encountered.
